Our Team
We’re so happy you’re here.
We’re the co-founders of Nurtured Roots — educators, moms, and longtime friends who really believe that kids learn best when they feel comfortable, understood, and supported.
After years of working with kids and families, we wanted to create a space that felt a little different. Somewhere warm and welcoming, where families know the people working with their kids and learning doesn’t feel one-size-fits-all.

I’ve spent more than 15 years working alongside students, families, and educators to help children grow in ways that feel meaningful, not just measurable. After founding my educational therapy practice, Roots of Learning, in 2014, my work expanded to include executive function coaching, parent collaboration, and consultation with school teams.
I also teach graduate courses in educational therapy, which keeps me connected to current research while continually reinforcing something I’ve seen throughout my career: the best learning happens through relationships. As a mom of two, I understand how layered the learning journey can be and how important it is for families to have people in their corner who truly understand their child.
My background in clinical nutrition brings a whole-child perspective to the way I think about learning. I’m especially interested in how factors like sleep, stress, nourishment, and regulation can influence a child’s ability to feel ready and available to learn.
Nurtured Roots is the kind of place I always hoped to create…a space where we can bring our experience together, guide families toward the right support, and work alongside a thoughtful team of educators who genuinely care about the kids they serve.
My hope is that every child who comes to Nurtured Roots feels understood, encouraged, and more confident in who they are as a learner.

I’ve spent more than 15 years in education helping children discover their strengths, build confidence, and experience success in learning. With a Master’s degree in Education and more than a decade running my educational therapy practice, A Nurtured Mind, I’ve seen firsthand how much can change when a child feels truly understood and supported.
As a mom of two boys, I experience the other side of education, too. I know how much parents want their children to feel capable, curious, and confident. I also know how valuable it is to have trusted people in your corner when you’re figuring out what support your child needs.
Nurtured Roots grew from a dream Kelsey and I shared: to bring our experience together and create something bigger than our individual practices. Today, I love connecting with families, helping identify the right support for each learner, and working alongside our team to create thoughtful, engaging learning experiences for the kids we serve.
My hope is that every family who walks through our doors feels known, supported, and genuinely excited about what their child can accomplish.
